The Community Support Centre of Essex County works with healthcare providers, patients and families to coordinate and provide convenient and professional services. We provide comfortable and affordable non-urgent medical transportation for individuals who require stretcher transport.

Requirements:

  • Valid Emergency First Responder, or working towards a Firefighting or Paramedic Diploma
  • Valid CPR and First Aid (Level C)
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service
  • Must be able to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays and outside regular hours of operation, including on call shifts
  • Valid ‘G’ class driving license
  • Ability to lift 250+ lbs. using a stretcher or stair chair with partner
  • Clean driving record
  • Must provide a copy of a Police Vulnerable Sector check
  • Current immunization records

Compensation:

Hourly wage $15.00  Casual positions available.

DRIVERS

You will also need:

Valid driver’s license (G)

Clear Driver’s Abstract

Police clearance

Experience working with seniors and persons with disabilities

Extensive knowledge of local geography considered an asset

Previous employment as taxi/bus driver considered an asset

Bilingualism is considered an asset

Student Placements

We successfully engage students from various programs and fields of study.

Students interested in a placement, co-op or internship with our organization should have their placement coordinator from their school contact t.bailey@communitysupportcentre.ca to request a placement opportunity.

Students will need to provide a copy of a recent Vulnerable Sector Check and proof of liability insurance from your school to start the placement. Students will receive training and orientation prior to taking on a student placement.

Summer Students (Summer 2018)

Post Secondary students who are returning to school Fall of 2018 may submit their resume to t.bailey@communitysupportcentre.ca. The Community Support Centre has one position available for a student working 420 hours over the 2018 summer months. Preference will be given to those who possess knowledge of Microsoft products (Publisher;word;excell;outlook), have great customer service skills . (Submit resumes February-May2018)
